By downloading, installing, or using CleanMachine ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Software.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the operator of CleanMachine ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms apply to all versions of CleanMachine, including free scanning functionality and paid cleaning features.
Upon purchase of a CleanMachine license, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal license to install and use CleanMachine on Mac computers that you own or control, subject to the following terms:
The free scanning functionality of CleanMachine — including Smart Scan, Duplicate Finder, Malware Scanner, and all other scan features — is available to all users at no cost and without a license purchase. No license is required to download and scan.
CleanMachine is sold as a one-time purchase at $19.99 USD per license. Payment is processed by Stripe. By completing a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy in addition to these Terms.
Prices are displayed in US dollars and may be subject to applicable taxes depending on your location. You are responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or levies imposed by your local jurisdiction.
Your license is activated by entering the email address used at checkout in the app's Settings → License section. No separate license key is issued.
We offer a 30-day full refund, no questions asked. If you are not satisfied with CleanMachine for any reason within 30 days of your purchase date, contact us at [email protected] and we will issue a full refund to your original payment method.
Refunds are processed through Stripe and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer. Upon refund, your license will be deactivated.
Refund requests submitted after 30 days of purchase will be considered on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.
Included updates: Your one-time purchase includes one year of app feature updates and AI model updates from the date of purchase.
Lifetime use: The app version you purchased continues to work indefinitely after your update period expires. CleanMachine will not disable, restrict, or degrade functionality in the version you purchased as a result of your update period expiring.
Optional renewal: After your first year, continued access to new features and AI model updates is available for an optional $12/year renewal. This renewal is entirely optional. You will never be required to renew to continue using the app features available at the time of your purchase.
We reserve the right to change update pricing for future renewals with reasonable notice.
You agree not to use CleanMachine to:
CleanMachine operates locally on your Mac. All scanning, analysis, and AI processing happens on your device. We do not receive, store, or process the contents of your files or scan results.
You are solely responsible for the files you choose to delete, move, or shred using CleanMachine. While CleanMachine moves files to a recoverable CleanMachine Trash before permanent deletion, you are responsible for reviewing and confirming any deletions. We recommend verifying the contents of CleanMachine Trash before permanently emptying it.

CleanMachine is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that CleanMachine will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that the results obtained from use of CleanMachine will be accurate, reliable, or meet your requirements.
CleanMachine's file shredder operates by overwriting file contents before deletion. Due to the nature of APFS (Apple File System) and SSD wear-leveling technology, we cannot guarantee that overwritten data is unrecoverable at the physical NAND level. The app discloses this limitation within the feature itself.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, service interruption, computer damage, or system failure, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of CleanMachine shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license in the twelve months preceding the claim (or $19.99 if no such payment was made in that period).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CleanMachine and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of CleanMachine in violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party; or (c) files you delete or modify using CleanMachine.
We may terminate or suspend your license immediately, without prior notice, if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of CleanMachine and destroy all copies in your possession.
You may terminate your use of CleanMachine at any time by uninstalling the software. If you are within the 30-day refund period, you may also request a refund as described in Section 4.
Termination does not entitle you to a refund outside of the 30-day refund window except at our discretion.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising under these Terms that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent infringement of intellectual property rights. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via email or through the app.
Your continued use of CleanMachine after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using CleanMachine and may request a refund if you are within the 30-day window.
